Chris Allen about us
Allen+Maurer Architects Ltd.
Florian Maurer From our base in the Okanagan Valley, Allen+Maurer Architects Ltd. are providing architectural, industrial design, landscape design and planning services in Canada, Romania and Italy. In the Yukon Florian Maurer designed many buildings in isolated communities and a harsh climate. His designs adapted to the conditions of Canada's North, and provided an alternative to generic imports from the South. The award winning Tr'ondek Hwech'in Cultural Centre and Yukon Energy Corporation Office Building are examples. His residence in Naramata, BC, has received national media attention and a 2006 Governor General's Medal for Architecture.

Before moving to BC's Interior Chris Allen practiced in San Francisco and Vancouver, working on projects like the award winning Vancouver Aquatic Centre. His work in the Okanagan has explored an appropriate response to the climate and landscape. He is active in the community, and is currently part of a task force reviewing Penticton's Official Community Plan to encourage higher densities in the town centre.

This added expertise offers our clients the confidence that their buildings are designed in conformity with the most up-to-date technical and regulatory requirements.
